CD23 - Sick During the Holidays, Resolutions!

After being sick for most of the holidays, I get to sit and revisit my resolutions to be a better working-class creative and pass on some bite-size helpings of working-class productivity, thoughts on creativity, and cats meowing in the background. What are you folks up to creatively? How are you getting it done this year? I'd love to hear from you!

Wishing you all a happy new year!

Much love,

j

CD22 - Designing Journal/Notebook Layouts, Rummaging Through the Trash

I've made some serious time investments this week in designing my bullet journaling layout and spreads. A little back story of where that passion is coming from. Often childhood springs up in the strangest ways.

Revamped the website and created MAKE TIME / MAKE ART: A new section of the blog devoted to sharing the helpful tips and directives that have worked for me as a working-class creative so far. Exciting!

If you're a creative with a dayjob, I'd love to know how you're balancing work/life/creativity!

Make art, make haste. Much love,

j

CD21 - 10 minute creativity: can you make art like that?

Status report. Health stuff. And what happens after you prioritize.

After several weeks of bullet journaling, I am seeing some changes for the better. But here's the question: Can I use my ten-minute breaks to get my creative fill for the day? I've been working on that this week! Also, here's the dilemma: Is it possible to be rewarded by the short term if the long term is lacking? Can a short term strategy help consolidate and focus your creativity toward the things that matter?

If you're a creative with a dayjob, come see if this can work for you!

Make art. Make haste.

Here we go, podcast day!

On this lunchtime podcast recording, I go over the recent surprises that responsibility throws at you! Lucky for us, that work/life pendulum swings just right for us to make the push for creativity. There is time to be fulfilled, there is time for art.

This status report is an overview of what I'm up to, and how I intend to use my upcoming short-form projects to get stuff done! Such as:

  • How the Mockumentary project will be a tool to collaborate on a local level and build community.

  • Finding freeware to write my novel in the coming year.

  • Plus a bunch of theories on the verge of practical application. Come along!

Much love,

j
